Our client is a leader in iconic gaming and pop culture products, with over 300 store locations across Australia and New Zealand. Seeking a talented Buyer to his involves planning, negotiating with vendors, sourcing new products, reviewing existing goods and managing and mitigating inherent financial risks.
Reporting to the Buying Director with an Assistant Buyer within the team.
Location: Eagles Farm, Brisbane
Salary: $80k - $100k + super based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES +
- Develop and execute strategic pricing, marketing, promotional, and display initiatives to drive sales and maximize market impact.
- Create detailed seasonal sales plans aligned with budgetary goals and market demands.
- Identify and source innovative, market-relevant products to maintain a competitive edge.
- Negotiate effectively with vendors and suppliers on contracts, pricing, promotions, delivery schedules, quantities, and invoice payments to optimize outcomes for the company.
- Oversee order placement, monitor progress, conduct quality checks, and ensure seamless inventory distribution.
- Analyze product sales performance and determine appropriate re-order quantities to meet demand.
- Anticipate consumer trends and forecast product demand to guide purchasing decisions on quantity, style, and quality.
- Perform in-depth business analyses to evaluate and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal merchandising teams to develop and implement go-to-market strategies and marketing campaigns.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Establish strong supplier partnerships through skilled negotiation to achieve optimal outcomes for the business.
REQUIREMENTS +
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail buying, planning, or merchandising.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to drive profitability.
- Proven ability to prioritize and perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
- High level of determination and drive to meet and exceed financial goals.
- Open to travel to engage directly with partners.
