Role Overview: As a Design Assistant, you will work closely with the design team to translate conceptual designs into stunning garments that reflect the brand's distinctive style. You will collaborate with the production team to ensure that product designs are accurate, technically feasible, and uphold the brand's high standards. Your role will involve everything from creating technical CAD drawings to managing design files and liaising with vendors. This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of Product, with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Translation: Accurately translate hand-rendered fashion illustrations into CAD technical drawings, ensuring consistency with design concepts.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high levels of product quality and design integrity, ensuring all designs align with the brand’s aesthetic.
Specification Sheets: Prepare detailed design specification sheets, including measurements, construction details, and materials.
Design File Management: Organise and manage all design files, ensuring easy access and retrieval for the team.
Materials Development and Sourcing: Assist in sourcing fabrics, trims, and hardware, ensuring they meet seasonal design objectives and quality standards.
Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with vendors to ensure accurate execution of design specifications and manage sample shipments.
Collection Handover: Support the handover process to the production team, covering all design details and ensuring smooth transitions.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance design processes and workflow efficiency.
