WHOLESALE MANAGER | PART TIME | JEWELLERY
Our client is a fabulous Australian Jewellery business based in Melbourne known for their colourful and playful pieces that can be worn on any occasion. Using ethically sourced materials, including lab grown and recycled, our client follows and values a sustainability ethos.
As the Wholesale Manager, you will be responsible for growing and managing the wholesale side of the business. You will work closely with the founder to establish and maintain relationships with boutique owners, department stores, and retailers, driving sales through new accounts. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of the Australian retail landscape, a strong existing network, and a passion for promoting locally made jewellery.
Salary: $100k + super pro rata to 20 hours + commission.
Location: Melbourne (hybrid working arrangements).
Days & times: can be suited to your situation.
This is an initial 20 hour per week role, but with the business growing thanks to your expertise, there is scope to increase hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES +
- Sales Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement a wholesale sales strategy to expand the presence in boutiques and retail stores across Australia. Identify new wholesale opportunities and cultivate long-term partnerships with retailers.
- Account Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with the existing wholesale client while actively identifying potential new accounts. Act as the main point of contact for retailers and boutique owners, ensuring they have everything they need for successful product stocking and promotion.
- Product Education & Presentation: Ensure all products are presented in line with the brand vision and retailer expectations. Provide retailers with the necessary information about the product range, including key selling points, and assist in training their staff where needed.
- Sales Targets & Reporting: Set achievable sales targets for yourself and track the performance of wholesale accounts. Provide regular updates on sales metrics, account performance, and market trends.
- Negotiations & Contracts: Lead discussions on pricing, terms, and conditions with potential and existing wholesale clients. Negotiate win-win deals that drive business growth while maintaining strong profit margins.
- Brand Representation: Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and other networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and develop new wholesale leads.
- Market Research: Stay informed about the competitive landscape, market trends, and consumer preferences to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies.
REQUIREMENTS +
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a wholesale or B2B sales role, ideally within the fashion, jewellery, or accessories industry.
- Startup Experience: Experience in a fast-paced startup environment, with the ability to adapt, take initiative, and manage diverse tasks as the business grows, is heavily desired.
- Established Network: A strong, pre-existing network within the Australian retail sector (e.g., boutique owners, department store buyers, or other relevant contacts) is essential.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
- Sales-Driven: Ability to meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Confident in negotiating deals and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and take initiative in driving business growth.
- Passion for Jewellery & Design: A genuine interest in the jewellery industry and an understanding of our brand’s ethos and aesthetic.
