About the Role
The Head of Buying & Production will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from range planning and supplier management to ensuring a seamless transition from production to sell-through. This leadership role is critical to achieving the brand’s commercial and creative goals while ensuring its collections remain relevant, compelling, and competitive in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Performance: Lead weekly trade reporting, analyse sales trends, and manage markdowns to optimise performance and profitability.
Range Development: Collaborate with the design team to create balanced monthly capsules, ensuring alignment with trade results and market trends.
Stock and Margin Management: Maintain stock intake to hit monthly targets and achieve gross margins in line with company goals.
Supplier Relations: Build and nurture relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and timely deliveries.
Team Leadership: Oversee and support the buying, design, and production teams, providing coaching and development to build a high-performing team.
Trend Awareness: Continuously monitor competitors and the marketplace to maintain the brand’s competitive edge.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, creative, and ecommerce teams to showcase products in their best light across all channels.
Skills and Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience in a buying role within the apparel industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
A keen eye for trends and an understanding of global fashion markets.
Previous experience in product development and supplier management.
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Proficient in Excel and experienced in managing budgets and margins.
Results-driven with a customer-first mindset and a proactive, positive attitude.
