About the Role
The Head of Buying & Production will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from range planning and supplier management to ensuring a seamless transition from production to sell-through. RESPONSIBILITIES +
- Product Performance: Lead weekly trade reporting, analyse sales trends, and manage markdowns to optimise performance and profitability.
- Range Development: Collaborate with the design team to create balanced monthly capsules, ensuring alignment with trade results and market trends.
- Stock and Margin Management: Maintain stock intake to hit monthly targets and achieve gross margins in line with company goals.
- Supplier Relations: Build and nurture relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and timely deliveries.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and support the buying, design, and production teams, providing coaching and development to build a high-performing team.
- Trend Awareness: Continuously monitor competitors and the marketplace to maintain the brand’s competitive edge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, creative, and ecommerce teams to showcase products in their best light across all channels.
REQUIREMENTS +
- At least 3 years’ experience in a buying role within the apparel industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- A keen eye for trends and an understanding of global fashion markets.
- Previous experience in product development and supplier management.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced in managing budgets and margins.
- Results-driven with a customer-first mindset and a proactive, positive attitude.
